The Late and Great Leonardo Da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci left a distinct mark not only Italy, but the entire world. A genius in every sense of the word, Leonardo was the quintessential Renaissance man:  a painter, sculptor, engineer, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist and writer.

Born in 1452 and raised in the Tuscan town of Vinci, Leonardo passed his childhood and early adult years in Florence before moving to Milan in 1482 to serve the city’s duchy, Ludovico Sforza, remaining here until Sforza’s fall from power in 1499.
