For nine days, the building complex designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano will host screenings, exhibitions, onstage conversations, events, conferences, and panels. The 1,300 square metres of the avenue leading to the Cavea (an open-air theatre square) will become one of the largest red carpets in the world.

Produced by Fondazione Cinema per Roma, chaired by Piera Detassis and under the artistic direction of Antonio Monda, Rome Film Festival exudes quality and excellence. It aims to promote a deeper understanding of the various forms of expression relevant to cinema such as independent films, visual art, documentaries, research and experimentation. Presenting films that might otherwise have been penalized for distribution, the festival also makes an effort to draw new audiences.
