Rome Jazz Festival November 2015
Feed your soul, mind and the planet at this year’s Rome Jazz Festival.
Jazz feeds the Planet is the theme for the 39th edition of Rome’s renowned Jazz Festival held in the pitch-perfect Auditorium Parco della Musica.
This November, the festival aims to illustrate the connection that jazz has with people around the world as it “represents the healthiest and most fertile way to globalize art”. The act of “feeding the planet” comes from the belief that jazz is a form of artistic nourishment that provides people around the world with unique sounds.
Highlights of the festival include: Grammy award-winning Jazz Vocalist Gregory Porter performing alongside the Gregory Porter Quintet on Saturday, November 14; Ameen Saleem and the Groove Lab as they bring their well-known “funk” to Jazz on Sunday, November 15; Dhafer Youssef Quartet, bring their dreamy Arab melodies to the stage on Wednesday. On November 18, Avishai Cohen Trio, who are known for their great live performances, rock the stage on Thursday, November 19. The Australian Grammy-winner Sarah McKenzie performs her album “Close your Eyes” with the Sarah McKenzie Quartet on Friday, November 20. Mauro Ottolini Sousaphonix, the renowned Italian jazz musician, performs alongside the famous Italian Chef Giorgione; along with many other famous jazz musicians.
In addition to the three free shows at Teatro of Villa Torlonia, the Roma Jazz Festival will bring influential artists from all around the world to Rome.
